Hi, I’m Kristine. I’m a rockhound, and a writer, and logic dictated I combine the two – thus Primordial Ink was hatched. It was either this, or therapy!

My method of rock polishing is the rotary tumbler, but there are others of my kind who swear by the vibratory method, and still others who hand-polish each rock using a flat lap. Me, I like the tumblin’. I like the sound of rocks rolling around and around and around, day in and day out. In fact, on those rare occasions when I don’t have a tumbler running, it sounds just too darn quiet in my garage.

My sister and I became addicts back in 2005, when our habit of picking up rocks at the beach reached a breaking point. We needed to find out how you keep them looking as beautiful dry as they do wet, so I did a little Googling and found the Rock Tumbling Hobby. It wasn’t long after that I had my sixth tumbler running in the garage and a 7″ slab saw sitting beside a diamond drill press.  Some day I want to enter the world of Flat Laps and do some hand cabbing – but in the meantime . . .

Combining writing novels and hounding for rock has produced the Stone Age Keyboard. I have many models in mind, but the first one out of the slot was Pebbles and BamBam.  Soon, if the keyboard donations come in as I hope they will, I’ll add the Ice Age, the Bronze Age, the Industrial Age and the Dark Age.  And who konws what might come after that!
